Hoosier Banker 23 Gavin Fisher is vice president of business development of Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo. He joined the bank in 2018 with nearly 15 years of banking experience. He has served as past treasurer of the Fishers Arts Council, past president of the Hamilton Southeastern School Foundation and sponsorship chair of the Geist Half Marathon. Fisher is a graduate of the IBA Leadership Development Program and Hamilton County Leadership Academy. Kyle Goodwin is assistant vice president and digital product officer of DeMotte State Bank, which he joined in 2016 as a management trainee. Prior to his banking career, he had five years of experience in the mining industry in Australia. Goodwin has been a volunteer with Ronald McDonald House Charities and Junior Achievement. He is a graduate of Purdue University and the IBA Leadership Development Program, and he currently is enrolled at the Barret Graduate School of Banking. Amanda Morris-Feldman is executive vice president of First Federal Savings Bank, Rochester. She joined the bank in 2006 and has served as accounting operations manager, controller and chief financial officer. She previously served as an auditor with Crowe LLP. Morris-Feldman is the finance committee chairwoman and member of the board of trustees at Ancilla College, a member of the allocations committee for United Way of Marshall County, and a volunteer for Junior Achievement of Marshall County. She is a graduate of Indiana University and a certified public accountant. HB Welcome, New FLD Advisory Board Members In 2019 the IBA created two new scholarship opportunities as a part of the 2018-20 strategic plan. Both scholarships are associated with the IBA Leadership Development Program, and both were created thanks to the generous sponsorship of SmithAmundsen LLC. IBA Annual Washington Trip Scholarship Each year a participant from the IBA Leadership Development Program is selected to receive a scholarship to attend the IBA Annual Washington Trip during the succeeding year. The goal is to strengthen the bond that emerging leaders will have with regard to grassroots advocacy, and provide awareness for the need for banking advocates to engage. This scholarship, which covers hotel and airfare expenses, was awarded to Vicky Pickering of First Farmers Bank & Trust Company, Converse. FLD 2 LDP Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to one FLD member and provides $1,500 toward Congratulations, Scholarship Winners "We visit the site!" www.floodplain.com F C I Floodplain Consultants Inc. registration fees for the 2020 IBA Leadership Development Program. The goal of the FLD 2 LDP scholarship is to provide another benefit of FLD membership that can help to develop and inspire leaders in the banking industry through participation in the IBA Leadership Development Program. This opportunity was available for active members of the IBA Future Leadership Division and was awarded to Nikita Brown of Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, French Lick. These scholarship opportunities will be available again in 2020, and they both provide additional benefits for involvement with the IBA Future Leadership Division and Leadership Development Program.
