Farmers State Bank, LaGrange, made a $10,000 donation to be a “Tsunami Sponsor” of the LaGrange Splash Pad. Farmers State Bank employees contributed their own money to the project with a $1,000 donation from their Blue Button Jean-erosity funds, a program that allows employees to wear blue jeans on specific days for a small donation. First Bank Richmond has contributed $7,500 to the Amigos Latino Center as title sponsor of its annual signature event and featured Amigos on its Doing Great Things Together marketing campaign. Additionally, the bank has made the following recent donations: $5,100 to Whitewater Community Television to underwrite its “21 For Fun” Fundraiser, Access to the Arts Show and coverage of the Wayne County Fair; $5,000 annual sponsorship to the Women’s Fund of the Wayne County Foundation to help the organization with its annual luncheon and ongoing efforts to empower women; and $2,500 to Richmond Friends School to sponsor its annual Read-A-Thon event. HB DEPARTMENTS United Fidelity Bank, Evansville, donated $1,300 to the 11th annual 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive. All money raised was used to purchase toys to assist in filling their 52-foot trailer, the contents of which were donated to the Children’s Wards of Deaconess Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House and Evansville Children’s Psychiatrics Center. Centier Bank, Merrillville, presented a $5,000 sponsorship in February for the annual Taste of the Region fundraiser event for the Service League of Northwest Indiana, which supports dozens of Region-based charities that benefit the homeless, the elderly, animal shelters and domestic violence shelters. The event took place March 6 at the Halls of St. George in Schererville. Additionally, the Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association presented Centier Bank with a mission sponsor plaque in February for its contribution of a $1,500 donation that was made for the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
