Short was named chief financial officer in 2013 and continues in that role. She additionally serves on the boards of 1st Source Capital Corporation and 1st Source Foundation. Short joined the bank in 1998 as tax director and later was promoted to vice president and controller. She is a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children. Short also has served the past eight years on the board of the Medical Education Foundation. A certified public accountant, she is a graduate of Alma College and has completed the University of Chicago Booth School of Business’ Chicago Management Institute. He has been with the bank for 12 years and served as IT manager for four years. England has extensive IT experience with a variety of companies including Robert Bosch, Whirlpool Corp. and HSBC. FIRST MERCHANTS BANK / Muncie Dale S. Clapp has been named region president for the Lakeshore market of the bank. He succeeds Daryl Pomranke, former Lakeshore region president, who will focus on business development in LaPorte County. Clapp has 35 years of banking experience, most recently serving as senior vice president and regional chief sales officer, Lakeshore region. His community outreach includes positions as chairman of the Valparaiso Economic Development Corp., immediate past chair of Porter Starke Services and Porter Starke Community Foundation, past chair of the Valparaiso Chamber board of directors and executive committee, and founding member and past chair of the NWI Regional Development Corp. Clapp also has been active with Mental Health America of Northwest Indiana. REPUBLIC BANK & TRUST COMPANY Louisville, KY Logan Pichel has been appointed president of the bank. He most recently served at Regions Bank, Birmingham, Alabama, which he joined in 2005. At Regions, Pichel led corporate development, financial planning and analysis, and mergers and acquisitions. UNION SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION Connersville Amanda Back has been promoted to executive vice president. She continues to serve as corporate secretary. Back has been with the bank for 20 years, most recently serving as vice president of audit/compliance. She is a graduate of Indiana University East. Derrick Mathews has been promoted to chief financial officer and senior trust officer. He joined the bank in 2014. Mathews is a member of the Connersville Rotary Club and serves on the boards of the Fayette County Economic Development Group, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and Dale Cemetery. He holds designations as a certified trust and financial adviser and accredited fiduciary investment manager. Mathews earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville and an MBA from Ball State University. Additionally, he has completed the Cannon Trust School, Cannon Investment Management School and Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Tim Carsey has been promoted to chief credit officer. He joined the bank in 2015, serving as business development officer before being promoted to senior vice president of loan administration. Carsey has been in banking for 28 years, including experience at PNC Bank, NA, as consumer lending transformation manager and as consumer default division manager.
