Our services include: FROM THE BOARD ROOM Jeffrey W. Gump has been elected chairman of the board of Farmers and Merchants Bank, Laotto, in addition to holding title as CEO. His prior position of president has been assigned to Gregory S. Veerkamp. Gump joined the bank in 1985 and was elected to the boards of the bank and FM Fincorp in 1997. He was promoted to bank president and CEO in 2006. Gump serves on the Indiana Bankers Association Board of Directors and has completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. George Nichols III has been appointed to the board of directors of Republic Bank & Trust Company, Louisville, Kentucky. He is president and CEO of The American College of Financial Services. Previously, he served in senior leadership with New York Life Insurance Company for 17 years. Nichols has nearly three decades of related experience, including service as commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Insurance. Todd Schurz has joined the boards of 1st Source Corporation and of 1st Source Bank, South Bend. He is president and CEO of Schurz Communications Inc. Schurz was named CEO in 2007 after prior service as president and chief operating officer and as vice president of technology and business development. He additionally has experience with the Times Journal Company, Daily News in New York, Associated Desert Shoppers, the South Bend Tribune and WSBT television. Schurz holds leadership positions with Herschend Enterprises and EBSCO Industries, and he is a member of the Arts & Letters Advisory Council of the University of Notre Dame College. HB IN MEMORY OF J. Stanley Myers, 74, former chairman of the board of Crossroads Bank, Wabash, died May 22. He served on the board from 1985 until his retirement in 2015, and he was chairman for 10 years. Myers owned EcoWater Systems in Wabash and was active in the community. He was a graduate of Ball State University. HB
