Our services include: IN MEMORY OF Fred K. Agnew, 88, former president and chairman of The Farmers Bank, Frankfort, died March 28. He joined the bank in 1967 and served as president from 1986 to 1995, then as chairman of the board from 1995 to 2008. Prior to his banking career, Agnew worked in sales with the Ingram-Richardson Company in Frankfort. His community service included the Symposiarchs and Rotary Club of Frankfort. Agnew was a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a graduate of Indiana University and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. HB First Merchants Bank, Muncie, has opened a banking center located in the Avondale Meadows neighborhood of Indianapolis at the intersection of East 38th Street and Meadows Drive. The location continues First Merchants’ investment in underserved communities and provides needed financial opportunities for local residents and businesses. The Avondale Meadows banking center seeks to increase mortgage lending, small business lending, community development and philanthropic ties to local clients of all geographic and financial backgrounds.
