He served the bank as chief lending officer for nearly 30 years. Mitchell began his banking career in 1971 with Boone County State Bank. His community outreach includes service as a Jackson Township trustee and member of Boone County Senior Services and Boone County Cancer Society. Mitchell is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club. Matthew B. Murphy III has been appointed to the boards of directors of Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo, and of Community First Financial Corporation. He is founder and chief consultant of Emboss Partners LLC, Indianapolis, with 10 years of banking experience and 25 years of senior leadership experience. Murphy has been a governor’s appointee to boards overseeing the Indiana Health Facility Financing Authority, Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund, Public Employee Retirement Fund of Indiana and InvestED. He also serves on boards of Lynx Capital Corp., Monument Capital Partners, Heron Capital Venture Fund, Community Investment Fund of Indiana Inc. and EmpowerED Families, as well as being an appointee by the Indianapolis Public Schools Board to serve as a member of the IPS Finance Committee. Murphy is a recipient of the Coalition of Minority Business Development and Indy Chamber’s William Henry Entrepreneurial Achievement Award, the Center for Leadership Development’s Minority Achievement Award in Finance, and has been named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list. He is a graduate of Indiana University and serves on the advisory board for the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the I.U. Kelley School of Business. Stacy V. Atkinson has been appointed to the boards of directors of Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo, and of Community First Financial Corporation. She is chancellor of Ivy Tech Hamilton County and serves on the National Association for the Education of Young Children Commission on Accreditation of Higher Education programs. As a native Spanish speaker and English language learner, Atkinson works with AMIGOS Latino Centers, PHASE Foundation and Girls Inc. Additional board work includes the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and the Reid Health Community Benefit Council. Atkinson has also been named one of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. She is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, which she served as an avionics technician during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Atkinson earned a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Lesley University. John C. Hingst has been appointed to the boards of directors of Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo, and of Community First Financial Corporation. He is president of Mid-America Beverage and has 10 years of experience in the beer distribution business. Hingst also serves on the board of directors of Bona Vista Programs. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. HB
