A member of the IBA 40 Year Club, Belcher was named to the 2021 class of the IBA Leaders in Banking Excellence. He is a graduate of Purdue University and a veteran of the U.S. Army. HB Stephen A. Denhart, CEO of Hendricks County Bank and Trust Company, Brownsburg, has announced plans to retire during the first half of 2022. David H. McKee will assume the role of CEO, Jerry P. Orem will continue as president, and Denhart is to continue service as chairman. In his over 50year tenure with the bank, Denhart served in roles including teller, bookkeeper, and head of operations and marketing. He is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club. Richard Belser, chief credit officer of Merchants Bank of Indiana, Carmel, has retired. He joined Symphony Bank in 2007, prior to its merger and subsequent rebranding to Merchants Bank of Indiana. Previously, Belser spent the majority of his career with Merchants National Bank and National City Bank, serving in executive management positions in retail banking, business banking, corporate banking and loan administration. He is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club. Richard E. Belcher, founding chairman, president and CEO of First Federal Savings Bank, Rochester, has retired after more than half a century of leading the bank, which he founded in 1966. Belcher’s leadership includes service as 1985-86 chairman of the Indiana League of Savings Institutions, which later merged with the Indiana Bankers Association. In 2021, he donated more than $3 million to multiple Fulton County nonprofits, culminating an estate plan created with his late wife, Suzanne. He has been named Rochester Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen, Northern Indiana Financial Entrepreneur of the Year, and he and Mrs. Belcher together earned the Rochester Community Service award and the Purdue University President’s TAKING IT EASY
