Jason Eckerle has been named her successor. Stuart held numerous corporate banking roles at the bank. She helped establish the bank’s first commercial real estate banking presence in the Washington, D.C., area in the late 1980s; was appointed regional president of the Delaware market in 2002; and returned to her home state of Indiana in 2011 to serve as regional president for central and southern Indiana. She was conferred with the Order of the First State by the governor of Delaware in 2011, and was recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal as one of the 2013 Women of Influence. Other honors include the 2015 Castaldi Award by the United Way of Central Indiana, the 2011 Tower of Leadership Award by the United Way of Delaware, the 2009 Citizen of the Year by the Boys Scouts of America for Delaware-Maryland-Virginia Council and the 2009 Muriel Gilman Award by the 21st Century for Delaware Children. She currently serves on the boards of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, the Indy Chamber, United Way of Central Indiana, Ascend Indiana and the Indianapolis Zoo. James D. Neff, president of Horizon Bank, Michigan City, and Horizon Bancorp Inc., has retired. Craig M. Dwight, chairman and CEO, has assumed the role of president until a new president is appointed. Neff had served as president since 2018. He joined the bank in 1999 as senior vice president of mortgage warehouse lending, and in 2004 he was promoted to executive vice president, plus named to the bank’s diversity business council. He previously had been employed with First of America Bank, La Porte, since 1978. Neff is a member of the Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum Advisory Board and the Michigan City Rotary Club; past president and campaign chairman of the Greater La Porte County United Way; and past associate member of the La Porte County Board of Realtors, La Porte County Home Builders Association and the Michigan City Community Development Corp. Neff has volunteered as a Salvation Army bell ringer for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of Purdue University North Central and the Leadership La Porte County program. Neff is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club and was named to the 2021 class of IBA Leaders in Banking Excellence. HB
