Hoosier Banker 39 FROM THE BOARD ROOM Tamika Catchings has been appointed to the board of directors of Merchants Bancorp, Carmel. She played basketball for the Indiana Fever from 2001 to 2016. A WNBA Champion, Catchings is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, 10-time WNBA All-Star, five-time Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time recipient of the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship award. She launched the Catch the Stars Foundation in 2004 to empower youth through goal-setting programs. Most recently, Catchings was vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Indiana Fever. Additionally, she has held board positions with the Indianapolis Airport Authority, the USA Basketball Development National Team Committee and the Oath Board of Advisors, for which she was a founding member. Thomas Dinwiddie has been appointed to the board of directors of Merchants Bancorp, Carmel. He has been a director of Merchants Bank of Indiana since 2002. Dinwiddie is a partner of the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, Indianapolis, an associate member of the Indiana Bankers Association. His practice focuses on real estate, real estate finance, real estate development and mortgage banking. Additionally, Dinwiddie has represented the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association for more than 30 years and was the first recipient of its Distinguished Service Award. He is a graduate of DePauw University and of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Pablo Vegas has joined the board of directors of Northwest Bank, Warren, Pennsylvania. He serves as executive vice president, chief operating officer and president of Utilities for NiSource Inc. Vegas joined NiSource in 2016 and has served as executive vice president of the company’s gas segment. Previously, he was president and COO of AEP Ohio and AEP Texas, corporate chief information officer at American Electric Power, plus held senior positions with IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Andersen Consulting. Vegas is a member of the board of trustees of the American Gas Foundation and past chairman of the board for One Columbus. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and the AEP Strategic Leadership Program at The Ohio State University. HB Thomas C. Fite, director of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions, has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors. His election took place on May 18 during the organization’s annual membership meeting. Also at the meeting, the CSBS elected new officers for 2022-23 and announced new committee chair appointments.
