32 SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2022 Horizon Bank, Michigan City, presented grant funds of $2,500 to Shepherd's Center of Hamilton County in Noblesville on Feb. 11. The grant is to help fund the reaching resources program, which helps seniors to age in place safely. The bank also donated $10,000 to Dunebrook Inc. in Michigan City, a family resource and child advocacy center. Funds are to be used toward child abuse prevention education in LaPorte and Porter counties. HB BANKING ON COMMUNITY United Fidelity Bank, Evansville, hosted its 20th annual Community Day at the Newburgh banking center on June 4. The event is designed to thank the community for continued support and to allow the public to interact with more than 30 nonprofit organizations. Live music, free food, family activities and giveaways were provided by bank volunteers. PNC Bank, NA, Wilmington, Delaware, on July 6 donated a building located on north Wayne Street in downtown Warren, Indiana, to Historic Warren Inc. The nearly 13,000-square-foot building is to help economic revitalization by providing space for business incubators, specialized retailers and entrepreneurs, with future plans to showcase regional artistic talent, including local students. The building, renamed “The Exchange,” has housed numerous banking institutions dating back to The Exchange Bank in the late 1800s. (Photo at right.)
