Hoosier Banker 45 HONORABLE MENTIONS Emily Boardman, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Crossroads Bank, Wabash, has been recognized as a Rising Star in Banking by BankBeat magazine. She joined the bank in 2007 as controller and later was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer before being named to her current title last year. Boardman served the Indiana Bankers Association as 2021 president of the Future Leadership Division Advisory Board and, in that capacity, was a member of the IBA Board of Directors. A certified public accountant, she began her career in 2002 with the accounting firm of PWC, Indianapolis. Boardman is active with the Wabash Rotary Club and Grow Wabash County. Bea Wiles, chief operating officer at Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo, was honored on June 8 with the Service Member Patriot Award for her support of James Davis, compliance officer at the bank and an active member of the Army National Guard. The award – presented by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the Department of Defense – recognizes efforts made to support citizen warriors through measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed. “Having to take time away from work for military obligations can be stressful, but Bea and the bank make it easier than I ever expected.
