Marcuccilli retains title as chairman of the holding company. Kristin Marcuccilli has been serving as chief operating officer of STAR Bank since 2013. She joined the bank in 2008 and has served in a variety of retail delivery, digital banking, marketing and strategic planning roles. Marcuccilli serves on the boards of directors of the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Technology & Innovation Association and the Indiana Economic Development Corp., for which she is vice chair of the entrepreneurship committee. Additionally, she is a founding member of Touchdown for Kids, an organization benefiting Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Marcuccilli earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Indiana University. She has completed the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and is a Wharton Leadership Certificate recipient. Brian Avery has been promoted to chief technology officer. He joined STAR 10 years ago as software lab engineer, has completed the bank’s leadership development program, and most recently served as vice president of technology and digital strategy. Avery has 18 years of experience implementing and managing technology. He is a member of the community advisory board for WBOI, a station of Northeast Indiana Public Radio; serves on advisory groups for TechPoint and VMWare; and is active with the Indiana chapter of InfraGard. Avery is a graduate of Indiana University-Fort Wayne, the Graduate School of Banking’s Bank Technology Management School at the University of Wisconsin and STAR’s leadership development program. Casey Cox has been named chief administrative officer of STAR Financial Group, the parent company of STAR Bank. He is secretary of the boards of directors of the holding company and bank. Cox joined STAR Bank in 2018 as general counsel. He has practiced law in Fort Wayne since 2007 and served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2013 to 2016. Cox is a board member of SCAN Inc. and chairs its public policy and board governance committee. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a JD from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University. Timothy Turner has joined the bank as a senior commercial banker, Indianapolis Monument Circle location. He has more than 30 years of banking experience, primarily in the business and commercial realm. Turner served the last nine years as a commercial and industrial banker with a concentration in the construction space. He is a voting member of the Indiana Statewide CDC Central Loan Committee and is active with organizations including the Indiana Subcontractors Association, Construction Financial Management Association, Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky and Surety Association of Indiana. Turner is a graduate of Indiana University. Jason Miller has joined the bank as a senior commercial banker, Indianapolis Monument Circle location. He previously was with Chase Bank for more than 20 years, serving as area manager on the business banking team, as a commercial and industrial loan officer, and as an agricultural banker focusing on the Muncie, Richmond and Indianapolis areas. Miller is a graduate of Ball State University. Demetrius Warren has been promoted to community reinvestment mortgage banker, Indianapolis Monument Circle location. He has 11 years of banking experience and for three years served as a branch manager at the Carmel location. Warren is a member of the boards of directors of URBAN ACT Academy and New Circle Church, where he also is a pastor. He attended Purdue University and earned a bachelor’s degree from WGU Indiana. Ryan Lepird has joined the bank as a private banker. He has more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services, most recently serving for 11 years as a private client banker and small business specialist with Chase Bank. Lepird volunteers for Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, and he coaches youth sports at the Wallen Baseball complex. He attended Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Janna Henney has been promoted to program manager. She has been with the organization for six years. Henney is vice chairman of the board of the Whitley County Family YMCA and chair of the development committee of the TROY Alternative School Board. Akeim Kelsaw has been named associate private banker. He joined STAR five years ago as a personal banker in the customer service department. Kelsaw serves on the board of directors for Pave the Path and as a site director for Club1 basketball.
