He was instrumental in the negotiation and passage of the landmark Banking Structure Reform Act of 1985. The third generation of his family to serve as both a lawyer and bank leader, White is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club and was named an IBA Leader in Banking Excellence in 2019. He graduated from DePauw University and the Indiana University School of Law. Craig M. Dwight, chairman and CEO of Horizon Bank, Michigan City, was presented with the Michigan City Economic Development Lifetime Achievement Award on July 21 at the silver anniversary gala of the Economic Development Corporation Michigan City (EDCMC). The award celebrates the outstanding leadership Dwight has demonstrated to LaPorte County over the course of his career. He was named president of Horizon Bank in 1998 and chairman and CEO in 2003. Dwight has served and chaired the local hospital board, United Way of LaPorte County and the EDCMC, and he has helped fundraise for organizations including the United Way, Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, the Martin Luther King Center, Michigan City area schools and the LaPorte County YMCA. Currently, he is working with One Region to support Michigan City’s Transportation Development Project and is representing the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, small businesses and nonprofits on Michigan City’s American Rescue Plan committee. Within the Indiana Bankers Association, Dwight previously served on the Board of Directors, is a member of the 40 Year Club and was named to the 2020 class of Leaders in Banking Excellence. Adam Goller, vice president at Community State Bank, Royal Center, has completed the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado after completing three annual two-week sessions of classroom training. The graduation ceremony took place on July 28. Melanie White, operations officer of Mid-Southern Savings Bank, FSB, Salem, has earned recognition as an accredited payments risk professional. She joined the bank in 2017 and additionally is an accredited ACH professional.
