46 MARCH / APRIL 2023 PRODUCT & SERVICES PROFILE The Indiana Bankers Association is starting 2023 by adding a new Preferred Service Provider to our offerings. Bankers Alliance is a company that offers tools, resources and assistance in the areas of compliance and regulatory external reviews. This is accomplished through two subsidiary companies, Compliance Alliance and Review Alliance. The compliance function is a challenge all banks face on a daily basis. As I talk with bankers, it is often a topic discussed, and I'm asked how the IBA can assist. I’m excited to introduce Compliance Alliance! Founded in 2011, the company is solely owned by state banking associations across the country. With this ownership structure, Compliance Alliance has a direct connection with the banking industry and knows the hot topics and key pain points regarding compliance in community banks. This subsidiary is led by Scott Daugherty, president of Bankers Alliance; and Darlia Fogarty, president of Compliance Alliance. Darlia was previously a compliance examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, as well as a bank compliance officer and consultant before joining Compliance Alliance. Therefore, she is very in tune with the compliance world. Members of the Compliance Alliance program have access to an all-inclusive set of bank compliance tools and services that help you stay up-to-date with consumer and regulatory requirements. The other exciting offering under the Bankers Alliance umbrella is Review Alliance. After seven years of working with banks, utilizing Compliance Alliance and hearing their need for compliance reviews by an external source, Bankers Alliance formed Review Alliance in 2018. Review Alliance is also led by Scott Daugherty, in addition to Chance Williams, president of Review Alliance. Chance was a compliance and BSA officer for 17 years at various-sized banks, as well as a consultant for eight years, prior to joining Review Alliance. Chance and his team of experts can provide compliance reviews in three different ways. One is a quarterly cycle of audits that is customized to match the bank’s system and follows through each quarter with recommendations and board reporting. The second way is a la carte services, where a bank will select certain areas such as an HMDA scrub, flood & TRID policy review, etc.; and the Review Alliance team will perform an audit suited to the bank’s specific needs. Finally, the third method is the utilization of a virtual compliance officer. If the timing is right and it makes sense to consider outsourcing your compliance support and guidance, this is the way to go! The Review Alliance experts can tackle specific projects or manage the entire compliance management system.
