His work as chairman-elect began quickly, as he was called on to testify March 28 before the House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, regarding relationship banking and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Small Business Lending Data Collection Rule. White is involved in many facets of ICBA, including serving as chair of its Federal Delegate Board and as a member of the executive, policy development and nominating committees. He was chairman of the Indiana Bankers Association in 2020 and is a past president of the IBA Future Leadership Division. A fourth-generation banker, White joined The Fountain Trust Company in 1994 as a part-time teller, working his way up to president in 2016. He is also a practicing attorney in the family firm of White & White Attorneys LLP. White earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a juris doctorate from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law at Bloomington, where he was awarded the Order of the Coif. He has also completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of WisconsinMadison. White is an active member of his community as a trustee of the Booe Inlow d’Arlier Charitable Foundation, a member of the West Central Regional Community Corrections Board and a member of the Covington Business Association. His term as ICBA chairman will begin at the conclusion of its 2024 conference at the Orlando World Center Marriott, March 14-17.
