United Fidelity Bank, Evansville, was the presenting sponsor for the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships March 1-4. This was the sixth consecutive year the events were held at the Ford Center in Evansville, and marked the 75th anniversary of the OVC. The University of Southern Indiana, based in Evansville, joined the conference this year. HB Centier Bank, Merrillville, donated $2,500 to the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center in Indianapolis. The FBGNC provides assistance in education, health, basic needs, hunger and financial education to ethnically and socio-economically diverse neighborhoods. The bank’s donation will directly fund a homeownership program that assists clients who are on the cusp of homeownership by providing credit reports, credit repair services, necessities, knowledge and education to get them into their homes. Beyond the financial donation, the bank will provide continued support and plans to offer financial literacy and education courses in the future. Farmers State Bank, LaGrange, donated $6,500 to sponsor 2023 spring theater musicals or choir/band concerts at eight area high schools.
