In accordance with this key component of our strategic plan, the IBA is coordinating a campaign to promote banking careers to those who maybe haven’t considered banking for themselves yet. The video and digital ad campaign will include various themes that we believe capture the true spirit of the Indiana banking industry, and we are seeking bankers willing to share their stories and experiences. If you are a banker under 45 years of age who is passionate about the banking industry and wants to tell your story so others will consider a banking career for themselves, please consider volunteering for this opportunity that could change lives. We would love to visit with you at your bank for a half-day, ask a few questions on camera and take video of you living out your career in the banking industry. For this campaign, we hope to focus on the following themes: • Small Town / Hometown Career Opportunity Are you a banker who wanted to stay close to home or live in a small town, and a banking career was your chance to live out this goal? • Community Service Are you someone who is passionate about serving in your community, and a banking career has given you the ability not only to be involved, but to make a greater impact than you ever imagined? • Banking Roles Banking includes many different areas (marketing, HR, IT/cybersecurity, compliance, financial advisors, analysts, etc.) that many people are not aware of or consider. Are you a banker who has found a stable Build the Banking Industry One Story at a Time career in one of these non-traditional banking roles and absolutely enjoys what you do? • Financial Literacy Are you actively involved in teaching financial literacy in schools or community organizations and want to share how you are making an impact? • Memorable Banking Story Is there a unique moment that stands out in your banking career where you and/or your banking team were able to accomplish a memorable result or make a significant impact on a customer or the community? While my regular FLD Focus column is primarily geared for those involved directly with the IBA Future Leadership Division, we want to cast a wide net throughout the industry as we work to create this video content. So whether you are an FLD member or not, please consider volunteering for this campaign. If you are a bank president or in a leadership capacity at your institution and you know of bankers within your institution who would be perfect for this campaign, please consider passing along this information and encourage them to participate. The IBA will review all responses and follow up for interviews and filming opportunities. Our hope is to create several videos that may be shared on our website, social media, college career portals and more toward the end of 2023 and into 2024. The IBA is eager to continue building the image of Indiana banking, and we are excited to get started on this new campaign. HB
