Hoosier Banker 55 COMMUNITY FIRST BANK OF INDIANA Kokomo Matt Sparks has joined the bank as bank officer, credit officer. He has more than 20 years of banking experience. Sparks volunteers with the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce, Grace Care Center, White River Christian Church, BOMA (Builders Owners Management Association) Indiana and Million Meal Drive. He graduated from Asbury University. GERMAN AMERICAN BANK / Jasper Brad Rust has been promoted to president of both the bank and its holding company, German American Bancorp Inc. He joined the bank in 1999 as part of its merger with 1st Bancorp of Vincennes, Indiana. Rust has served as chief financial officer since 2005 and chief operating officer since Jan. 1, 2022. He will continue in his capacity as CFO. UNITED FIDELITY BANK / Evansville Melissa West has joined the bank as BSA officer. She has seven years’ prior experience at a credit union. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from 2005-2013, West is now an active member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Marine Corps League and Tri-State Women Veterans Inc. She has a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, and earned a professional designation as a certified anti-money laundering specialist. SPRINGS VALLEY BANK & TRUST CO. / Jasper J. Craig Buse has been promoted to president of the bank and its holding company, SVB&T Corporation. He serves on the boards of RADIUS, Spencer County Economic Development, Dubois Strong, the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation and the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition. Buse earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Capella University. He also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin, completed the Dubois County Leadership Academy and was awarded the Independent Community Bankers “Rising Star” Award. Tina Martin has been promoted to vice president, financial advisory group operations manager. She started with the bank 10 years ago as a trust operations specialist. Martin volunteers with Junior Achievement and as a CASA for Dubois County. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana, and holds the designations of accredited trust operations professional and certified trust operations professional. Emily Rexing has been promoted to vice president, mortgage loan officer. She has been with the bank for nearly four years. Rexing serves on the board of Junior Achievement. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana. Jordan Briggeman has been promoted to assistant vice president, business banker. He serves on the boards of Daviess County Economic Development and Our Community Foundation and volunteers as a Rotarian and youth sports coach. Briggeman is also a small business owner and operator in the town of Washington. Rachel Miller has been promoted to assistant vice president, credit analyst. She started with the bank five years ago as a loan processor. Miller is on the board of Mentors for Youth and also serves as a mentor. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana. PREMIER BANK / Defiance, OH Garrett Leeper has been promoted to assistant vice president, commercial lender. He joined the bank earlier this year as a commercial portfolio manager. Leeper serves on the boards of the Risk Management Association of Northern Indiana and the Fort Wayne Golf Association. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis.
