Morris “Morrie” Maurer, co-founder and former longtime CEO of The National Bank of Indianapolis, passed away in February at the age of 72. He cofounded the bank in 1993, serving as director, president and CEO until retiring in 2019. Maurer remained on the board of directors and served as a consultant until his passing. He was honored in 2019 as a Leader in Banking Excellence, the IBA’s highest honor, and was a member of the IBA’s 40 Year Club. Kimberly “Kim” Joan Arthur, who worked in loan services at Home Bank, Martinsville, for 37 years, passed away on Dec. 27, 2023. A loving wife, caring mother and loyal friend, she enjoyed summer camping and boating trips to Lake Monroe with her family, as well as cooking and baking for her many loved ones. Kim is survived by her husband, daughter, mother, three stepchildren, brother and sister. Eastep graduated from Purdue University. UNITED FIDELITY BANK / EVANSVILLE Julie Ellis has joined the bank as first vice president of loan administration. She used to work as a paralegal and has 27 years of banking experience. Ellis graduated from the University of Phoenix. Kimberly Hock has joined the bank as first vice president, senior director of internal audit with more than 20 years of banking experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and has three professional designations – certified internal auditor, certified financial services auditor and certified risk management associate.
