Tate Reeves and Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann through record-breaking MADA Auto PAC contributions. 2020 ; Passed the “Back-to-Business Liability Assurance Act,” enacting reasonable safeguards against a potential surge of coronavirus lawsuits. 2021 ; Completed Operation 47 and passed a law requiring manufacturers to reimburse dealers at retail for parts and labor. ; Passed a law eliminating the double sales tax imposed in June. ; Defeated legislation to increase the sales tax on automobiles (5% to 7.5%). 2023 ; Passed a law that prevents a manufacturer from owning a dealership and unfairly competing against franchisees. ; Reached a new record in giving to statewide and legislative candidates.
