SCHAEFER, Grafton & Associates, PC, Lincoln • Approved the recommendations of the Awards Selection Committee to honor four outstanding Society members during the 2019 Annual Meeting. • Approved changes to the Society Bylaws to include four classes of membership: Resident, Non-Resident, Honorary, and Affiliate. In addition, changes were made to allow greater flexibility in the number of individuals serving on the board. • Directed the Society to establish a 12-month timeframe for the new Society Leadership Academy. • Discussed the potential development of an Association Health Plan (AHP) for the Society, following an educational meeting with the SilverStone Group. Although no further action will be taken at this time, the Society will continue to watch for future developments in the area of AHPs. In other news, we would like to congratulate Dana Weber of Scottsbluff on his election as president of the West Nebraska Chapter of the Nebraska Society of CPAs during the chapter’s annual tax update CPE class on December 19-20, 2018. As president of the West Nebraska Chapter, he now holds a seat on the Society Board of Directors. Congratulations, Dana! We also extend our congratulations to Seth Covalt on his election as vice president and Tamara Pierce on her election as secretary/treasurer. The next Nebraska Society of CPAs Board of Directors meeting will take place May 29 at Quarry Oaks Golf Club in Ashland.
