M A R C H / A P R I L 2 0 1 9 24 nebraska cpas SOCIETY MEMBERS AMONG NEBRASKA CHAMBER’S TOP LEADERSHIP Nine members of the Nebraska Society of CPAs are among Nebraska’s top business leaders who are currently serving on the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors. Society member Todd Foje is serving as chairman of the Nebraska Chamber in 2019. Foje is CEO of Great Plains Communications Inc. in Blair and is the fourth Society member to hold that office in nine years! Past chairmen of the Nebraska Chamber who are Society members include Jeff Scherer of Beemer (2011), Steve Ford of Lincoln (2012), and Chris Roth of Deshler (2014). Ford is CEO of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. and Roth is president and CEO of Reinke Manufacturing Co. Inc. Both Ford and Roth currently serve as ex-officio directors of the Chamber. Society member Bryan Slone of Omaha became president of the Nebraska Chamber inMay 2018, succeeding Barry Kennedy, who retired last year. Also serving on the Nebraska Chamber Board is Society Past Chairman Ryan Parker of Lincoln, who serves as a District IV director for the Chamber. Parker is president and CEO of Endicott Clay Products Co. in Fairbury. Society member Mark Walz of Lincoln serves as a District II director. Walz is chairman, president, and CEO of Farmers Mutual of Nebraska. Society member Sean Baker of Omaha serves as a District I director. Baker is executive vice president of Enterprise Digital Business Strategy for First National Bank of Omaha. In addition, Jim Krieger of Omaha is an appointed director in District I. Krieger is CFO of The Gallup Organization. Society member Larry Kopsa of York is chairman of the Nebraska Chamber’s Small Business Council and is an ex-officio director. Kopsa is a partner/owner of Kopsa Otte + Associates, LLC, CPAs. The Society is a long-time member of the Nebraska Chamber and works closely with the Chamber on issues of importance to the CPA profession.
