Document Common Error How the Dealership Can Correct All Illegible documents Ensure all information is discernible upon scanning and uploading of documents (common with Driver’s Licenses and Purchase/Lease Agreements) All Documents are submitted for a co-owner/lessor other than the applicant. Specifically, the Terms & Conditions and the Drivers License Ensure the submitted documents are for the applicant Proof of Registration Vehicle transaction method is a lease, but Proof of Registration document does not indicate a lessor or leasing company, and vice-versa Ensure the proof of registration matches the transaction type (purchase or lease) Proof of Residency (Driver’s License) The Proof of Residency (Driver’s License) was expired on the date of purchase or lease Upload a valid New Jersey Driver’s License, or a signed interim New Jersey Driver’s License authorized by the NJ MVC Purchase/ Lease Agreement Purchase/Lease Agreement missing signatures from the customer and/ or dealership Ensure a fully-signed copy of the Purchase/Lease Agreement is provided Purchase/ Lease Agreement Vehicle price on Purchase/Lease Agreement exceeds $55,000, or exceeds $45,000 for an application applying for a $4,000 reimbursement If the price on the Purchase/Lease Agreement exceeds the MSRP threshold for the reimbursement amount that is being applied, dealers can upload the window sticker, or “Monroney Label,” in addition to the Purchase/Lease Agreement to reduce a need for additional information Purchase/ Lease Agreement Missing or incomplete documents Review the application to ensure all documents, and all pages of documents, are uploaded before submitting (common with Purchase/Lease Agreements) Terms and Conditions Missing signatures, incentive amount, and/or vehicle description on Terms & Conditions form Ensure all information is present & correct on Terms & Conditions form Terms and Conditions Terms & Conditions lack specificity in vehicle model. Examples include the Chevrolet Bolt vs Bolt EUV and Hyundai Ioniq 5 vs Ioniq 6 Ensure the Terms & Conditions document specify the vehicle model Terms and Conditions, Purchase/Lease Agreement Applying the incorrect incentive amount at point-of-purchase/lease Refer to the MSRP language in the Terms & Conditions to calculate the correct incentive amount the purchase and lease paperwork for vehicles ordered within the eligibility window (July 25, 2022, through 9:00 P.M. ET on April 17, 2023) as a way to accommodate any delays due to supply chain disruptions. NJ CAR will continue working with BPU, the Charge Up New Jersey program administrator, the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), and will communicate details about the fourth phase of the program as soon as they are available.
