The bank’s president, Greg Gar - rett, serves in the top position. Deborah Romero, Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, and Russell Virden, Senior Vice Pres - ident and Chief Information Officer, have already assumed their new roles. “We’re proud to honor and elevate both of these team members,” said James Lynch, Chairman of the Board. “The board truly appreciates their demonstrat- ed commitment to First National Bank.” Deborah began working at First National Bank in March 2016. Her career in the banking industry started in 1994 with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, before working with several commu- nity banks in northern New Mexico. Mrs. Romero has a strong background in credit, including over 22 years as an officer specializing in commercial real estate, small business and agricultural lending. Russell is proud to be a lifelong resident of Otero County. His family has resided in Lincoln and Otero counties since the late 1800s. Mr. Virden has worked with First National Bank for 32 years, starting as a Data Processing Supervisor. He rose through the ranks, serving in various positions, including Opera- tions Officer; Assistant Vice President of Operations; Vice President of Operations; and Cashier.
