Chris Donoghue, vice president, facilitated the dis- cussion on topics that included public utility easements and legal descriptions. This was a carryover from the previous discussion topics we did not cover. August 22, 2019: Brent Bateman from the Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman will speak to us at Joe Morley’s BBQ. We invited everyone who was interested to attend, and they were told to bring a friend! Everyone should start thinking about nominations for Surveyor of the Year and Lifetime Achievement to be awarded at our upcoming UCLS Conference, February 19-21, 2019 in St George, Utah. Please submit your nominations to a member of the Chapter Presidency via email or at an upcoming chapter luncheon. The 2019 SHS Salt Lake City Rendez - vous was held September 18-21, 2019. We had some great speakers from our chapter presenting and the UCLS Histor - ical Committee has spent a lot of time and effort on this event. We hope you attended some of the fun and interest - ing classes scheduled. The UCLS Education Committee is teamed up with the Hill Air Force Base Sci - ence, Technology, Engineering and Math Outreach Program and the Utah Engi- neers Council to present a STEM exhibit during the 2019 Fall FanX event in Salt Lake City on September 5-7, 2019. They had the Interactive sandbox set up along with other great STEM activities for adults and children. Last but not least … the Annual Fall Forum is coming up November 8-9th, 2019. CST Certification verifies one’s capabilities and value, enhancing employ - ers’ credibility with current and potential clients. Each year the forum is geared towards contractors, excavators, grade checkers, office and field survey techni - cians, civil engineers, survey crewchiefs and crewmembers, students in related disci- plines, and any other interested individuals whowish to become certified as survey technicians. The fall forum training provides a review in preparation for the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Certified Surveying Technician (CST) online exam.
