www.uba.org 12 Bank Officers Appointed to Commissions Two Bank of American Fork Officers Commissioned for their unique expertise T wo officers at Bank of American Fork were recently appointed to special public and professional com- missions: Tracey Larson , VP/ Special Projects Manager, Bank of Amer- ican Fork. Tracey Larson was recently appointed as the financial representative for the Governor’s Commission on Aging. Larson’s appointment is for two years. The commission addresses how state government and the private sector can prepare for the wave of aging individuals that began in 2006 when the oldest baby boomers turned 60. The commis- sion seeks to assure that all aspects of aging individu- als’ lives are addressed. Larson has been instrumental in helping Bank of American Fork develop products and policies tailored to senior customers. Larson was active in the development of AccountSmart™ Tools for Seniors, a checking product designed to help limit risk for seniors who need help with managing their financ- es. Because of her expertise, Larson has participated in national panels on elder financial abuse prevention. H. Dean Robb , VP/ Credit Risk Assessment Officer, Bank of American Fork. H. Dean Robb recently accepted an invitation to serve on a standing committee for the Western Independent Bankers Conference Education Develop- ment Committee. In September Robb participated in the WIB’s 2013 Education Summit as a compliance and risk presenter and as a committee member. The WIB committee was so impressed that they reached out to him about partici- pating as a standing member of the committee. Because of his expertise, dedication and enthusiasm, Robb was also asked to help develop a credit program. Celtic Bank Presented with Bronze Award at SBA New York District Office Luncheon Celtic Bank was presented with the Bronze award by the SBA’s New York District Office at their annual Lender Awards luncheon on December 3, 2013. The Bronze award is presented to lenders who loan between $9M and $20M to small businesses located within the New York Dis- trict. Daniel Godfrey, Senior Vice President of Asset-Based Lending at Celtic Bank was on hand to accept the award. Celtic Bank originated nearly $13M in SBA 7(a) and CAPLine loans in the New York District during FY 2013. “Despite not having a loan production office in the New York District, this award is a testament to the strength of our team and our com- mitment to financing the needs of small businesses in New York,” said Eric Petersen, Executive Vice President of Corpo- rate Development and Strategic Planning at Celtic Bank. Eleven Greater Salt Lake Nonprofit Groups Awareded U.S. Bank Foundation Grants U.S. Bank, through the U.S. Bank Foundation, is award- ing a total of $39,500 in grants to 11 nonprofit organi- zations in the Greater Salt Lake. The grants are being awarded for organizations that support arts and culture, economic opportunity and education in the Greater Salt Lake community. “These organizations improve the quality of life for their clients and the community at large,” said Damon Miller, president of U.S. Bank in Utah. “The U.S. Bank team is honored to help support them and their pro- grams the make our community a better place to live.” Artistic and cultural enrichment grants are awarded to organizations and programs that build audiences for the arts, especially among underserved populations, bring select and limited civic amenities to underserved, rural communities or promote the arts in education.
