Farmers & Merchants Bank Honors Joyce Janes for 50 Years of Service May 3, 1976, stands out as an especially historic day for Farmers & Merchants Bank (FMB). It was the day Joyce Janes began her career with FMB, starting as an extra bookkeeper hired by Gene Dixon. Over the next five decades, Joyce built a career defined by dedication, versatility, and unwavering commitment to the bank and the St. Clair community. Throughout her tenure at Farmers & Merchants Bank, Joyce served in many roles, including bookkeeping, the loan department, executive administration, retail banking, marketing and ultimately as vice president, where she managed the bank’s Travel Club and customer events. Joyce’s service has been widely recognized over the years. Her honors include multiple awards from the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce, the St. Clair Rotary Club and the St. Clair R-13 School District, recognizing her leadership, volunteerism and dedication to public service. In addition to her professional roles, Joyce volunteered countless hours representing Farmers & Merchants Bank at community events and organizations, including local festivals, fundraisers and golf tournaments, and served for eight years on the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce Board. While Joyce has transitioned into a very part time role, continuing her work with the Travel Club, her legacy at Farmers & Merchants Bank remains strong.
